The History of Gellios™
Gellios™ have been handmade for nineteen years. Loyal customers, quality supplies and guaranteed craftsmanship are some of the reasons why. But it's mostly because of the customers.
You've asked for them, even begged, pleading that you must be able to buy them forrr-evv-err! You've said that you cannot live without them, and that life itself is better because of Gellios™.
Well, GEEZ! How do ya say no to that? I can't! So, Thank You!
You've come looking for these gems using phrases such as "jelly coils," retractile coils," "hair springs," "jellies," "phone cord thingies," "plastic coils," "coiled rubber bands," "coiled ponytail holders," and even "coiled hair barrettes."
And you found the best ponytail holder in the world! Thank you!
Gellios™ (pronounced jelly-o's) were invented and named one inspired evening in the early spring of 1989. George Braddy, professional hairdresser, artist and quirky inventory, had just found some new plastic. He wrapped it in his hair and eagerly showed his friend, Mary Rodden (me). He thought it could be a great ponytail holder. So, I tried it, but it didn't fit in my fat hair. (Frown).
Unknown if the inspiration came from the wine or the whine, George "magically put" the two ends of the plastic together. He gave the "retractile toroid" to me and I tried this one in my hair. Oh! That's good! And he made another, and another.
Hmmmm. The small pile on the table looked like jelly. They were a bunch of little O's. G is for George, of course. "Gellios!" It all happened so quickly.
From that day forward, George proudly announced that he'd invented, (and would you like to see?) . . . continued on next page.
